I’m Dave, the author of this site. I was born on the tail end of the baby boom, a professional research scientist (PhD in biochemistry) by day with 20 + years under my belt in research, first in academia, now in industry. Professionally, I love what I do, I like to think of it as being paid to indulge my curiosity, of course it’s not as simple as that.

I’m currently putting my wife through grad school at IUPUI. You can find her sporadically updated blog at Life’s a Road Trip.

I’m an unapologetic geek, and nerd. An avid photographer, a potential future fine art photographer, and carpenter currently in my fifth year of remodeling our house on the south side of Indianapolis. I’ve lived in Canada, Texas and Washington state before moving to the midwest for a career change. I’m a future cranky old bastard who still cries in movies (but you didn’t hear that from me).
