Good question. I’m Dave, the author of this site. I was born on the tail end of the baby boom, a professional research scientist (PhD in biochemistry) by day with 20 + years under my belt in research, first in academia, now in industry. Professionally, I love what I do, I like to think of it as being paid to indulge my curiosity, of course it’s not as simple as that.
I’m currently putting my wife through college, followed hopefully by medical school. In my spare time, I’ve a part-time web designer and web master. The first website I designed and maintained was for the university department where I was working at the time, back in 1997/98. Since then I’ve designed and maintained sites for several other small groups, always on a volunteer basis, until I got burned out on it around 2004. It was no longer fun, but an obligation.
I’m an unapologetic geek, and nerd. An avid photographer, and carpenter currently in my fifth year of remodeling our house on the south side of Indianapolis. I’ve lived in Canada, Texas and Washington state before moving to the midwest for a career change. I’m a future cranky old bastard who still cries in movies.
