Reflections on color processing IR with LAB

reflections on LAB

Well I think I’ve sorted out a basic workflow for processing false color infrared images using LAB color in Photoshop that gives results that I’m happy with. I’m writing up a tutorial describing the basic steps of what I’m doing. It’s not ready for prime time yet, but it’s been a useful exercise for me to go through, forcing me to think things through systematically.

I’ve also put up a gallery of IR shots that I took on the grounds of the Indianapolis Museum of Art recently. You can find the link in the left sidebar of this page. Not all of the images were processed with LAB color, but quite a few were.
