phishing scams

In general, phishing scams that purport to come from a bank or credit card company have been getting more realistic looking over the last little while. But there are exceptions, like the one I got today claiming to be from a bank that I’ve never done business with (although it is local to where I live). But apparently someone believes that tacking this flashing skull and cross bones banner on the top of their e-mail to me warning of a problem with my (non-existant) account with them will somehow enhance their credibility.

It boggles the mind.
