another one for the “well duh file”

It seems that as with many other new trends in technology, the porn industry is out in front in adopting new formats. In the case of high-definition DVDs, they’re finding that the high resolution shows just a bit too much detail.
From the New York Times:
“The biggest problem is razor burn” said Stormy Daniels, an actress, [...]

the Colts and da Bears

Found on Flickr, by thepeepmeister
I’m a recent (7+ year) transplant to Indianapolis, so I don’t really have an appreciation of how big a deal it is that the Colts won the AFC Championship game last night to advance to the Super Bowl. My wife, on the other hand, is a born and bred Hoosier from [...]

take the picture damnit!

“If I had balls, they’d be frozen off by now. If you keep pointing that thing at me, I’ll chew your face off. If you don’t give me my treat I’ll show you how it feels to get neutered. Remember, I know where you sleep.”

snow angel CSI

This is what happens when a snow angel lands on your driveway. When I got there, there was just the faint whiff of cotton candy, freshly baked bread and Jack Daniels. Don’t fly under the influence.

what do you mean, you’re not going to let me in?

How can you resist a face like this? So innocent, so naive, without guile or deception. Of course she and her brother are a couple of Baby Hueys when they get inside. They’re happiest outside, where they can roll around in the snow, barking at the Canada geese as they fly overhead. I [...]

Since upgrading to WP 2.1 RC1 I’m encountering a bit of flakiness with the site layout using the links generated by “wp_get_archives”. The flakiness doesn’t seem to be there if I switch to the default theme, or the themes from plaintxt.org, so it’s clearly an issue with something in my theme, and not WP. Expect [...]

now where did I put that… um?

OK, this blog may end up being a reflection of what I tend to read on the web while I’m catching up on the world.

Cheap, safe drug kills most cancers

This belongs in the “WTF, why didn’t anyone thing of this before” category. At least superficially the working theory of how it works seems feasible. Sometimes the most obvious things are right beneath your nose.
It sounds almost too good to be true: a cheap and simple drug that kills almost all cancers by switching off [...]

mountain dew

Someone (other than my wife) please explain to me why Mountain Dew in the can is supposed to taste better after it’s been shaken. Please?
