five things you might not know about me

  1. I have a tattoo that covers half my back, and I’ve had body piercings “below the neckline” for over 15 years.
  2. I got a third degree burn on my left thigh from playing “Junior chemist” when I was 13. I was in the hospital for two weeks getting a skin graft to cover it up. I haven’t been in the hospital since.
  3. The first time I ever got drunk was when I was about 15, drinking the better part of a bottle of gin from my parents liquor cabinet. In hindsight, I’m lucky I didn’t get alcohol poisoning. I waited almost a year after I passed the legal drinking age before the next time I got drunk. Over 30 years later, I still can’t stand the smell of gin. Pavlov was onto something.
  4. My step-daughter found out that I occasionally cry during movies at the end of Casper.
  5. I never forward on chain e-mails promising me long life and good fortune if I answer just this short quiz. I also rarely fall for urban legends, if I hear something that sounds like one, Snopes is usually the first place I look. And I hardly ever fill out things like this “five things you might not know…”.
